Michele Folts, Contract Administrator for Boston Parks and Recreation has notified community residents and groups that the Budget Office will approve the additional money to move forward with the construction of a new wall on Snow Hill Street which borders the DeFilippo Playground.
About two weeks ago there were reports that the bids for the wall repairs were too high and the City would have to re-bid the project.
Parks and Recreation has held several meetings in the North End planning with residents for a new wall that was considered a public safety problem due to the bad condition it was in.
Folts believes the project will begin this June.
