-By Phil Orlandella

LaFamiglia Giorgio, 112 Salem Street has received approval from the Licensing Board for the City of Boston for a new CV Full Liquor License to replace the restaurant’s long-standing beer and wine with cordials license.

Both NEWRA and NEWNC voted to support owner Albert Giorgio’s request. The board approval included a midnight closing hour, seven days.

NEWRA voted in favor under the following conditions, Sunday through Thursday closing hour of 11pm and a midnight closure on Fridays and Saturdays.

In addition, NEWRA asked that alcohol will be served only with food, no bar on the premises and a restriction that the existing beer and wine with cordials license not to be transferred or reissued outside the neighborhood.

According to NEWRA Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee report none of the above conditions were included in the Licensing Board’s decision of approval.

NEWRA has prepared and sent a letter to the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, which revues the license, requesting the community association’s condition be officially included in the license.
