Christine Franzese

Attorney

Atty. Christine M. Franzese, a lifetime resident of Winthrop, died at the Marist Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Waltham on Sunday, May 8, after a long illness. She was 54 years old.

Born in Boston, the beloved daughter of  Rita (Langone) and the late William P. Franzese, she was a 1974 graduate of Winthrop High School, a 1986 graduate of Emerson College, a 1999 graduate of the New England School of Law and a partner in the Law Firm of Franzese & Franzese. She worked as the personnel director at Emerson College, taught at the New England School of Law and was a political operative for the Clinton campaign in 1992.

She was the dear sister of Janice S. and Leo Cushing of Lexington, Joseph P. and Lisa Franzese of Winthrop, William P. Jr. and Tia Franzese of Marblehead and Paula E. and Marc Rie of Melrose, and loving aunt of William Cushing, Ashlee C. Cushing, Kirby M. Franzese, William P. Franzese III and Annabelle E. Rie.

Her Funeral was held from the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son – O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop. Burial was in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery. Rosemarie Massa

Winthrop resident, formerly of the North End

Rosemarie A. (Lanzi) Massa of Winthrop, formerly of Boston, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on  May 8 after a long illness. She was 68 years old.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Alessandrina (Cataldo) and Louis Lanzi, she lived in the North End of Boston prior to moving to Winthrop 46 years ago. She was a longtime employee of the New England Telephone, a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Point Shirley Associates.

She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Massa, loving mother of Michelle McCarthy and her husband, Sean Brown, Anthony and his wife, Gina Massa, Sandra and her husband, Timmy Alibozek, and Robert Jr. and his wife, Christina Massa, all of Winthrop; devoted grandmother of Patrick, Nick, Taylor, Devin, Gabriella, AJ, Amelia and Bobby; dear sister of the late Paul Lanzi and  his wife, Cathalina, Joan Griffin, Lauretta Noe and her husband, Santo, Louis Lanzi and his wife, Barbara, and the late Joseh Lanzi. She is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews.

Francis Anthony Viscione, Jr.

Former employee of Bank of Boston and Harvard Business School

Francis “Franny” “Frank” Viscione, Jr. of Billerica, formerly of Boston’s North End, died recently.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and former employee of Bank of Boston and Harvard Business School.

He was the beloved husband of Julie M. (Vaiani) Viscione; devoted father of Tony Viscione III and his wife, Carol. of Billerica and Paul Viscione and his wife, Diane. of Westford; loving son of Caroline T. (Mazzaro) Viscione of Boston and the late Francis Anthony Viscione, Sr.; brother of Samuel Viscione and his wife, Jenny. of Burlington; cherished grandfather of Michael and Anthony Viscione and P.J., Juliana, and Eric Viscione and is also survived by his brother-in-law, Christopher Vaiani, and his wife, Joanne.

Andrea Caporrimo

East Boston resident

Andrea Caporrimo of East Boston died on May 7.

He was the loving brother of Angela Amorella and Enza and Rosalia Caporrimo, all of Italy; dear friend of Sebastian Martelli and family and Francesco Balistreri.

A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of his life was held in the Most Holy Redeemer Church, East Boston. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.  Arrangements were under the personal care of Ruggiero Mazzarella Memorial Home, East Boston.

Arthur Venuti

Former Part Owner of Warehouse Carpet Sales of Medford.

Arthur Venuti of Bridgewater, formerly of Medford and East Boston, died peacefully at home on May 5, comforted by his family.

He was the site manager and part-owner of Warehouse Carpet Sales in Medford for more than 25 years. He was 86 years old.

He was born in the North End of Boston on November 10, 1925, to the late Michele and Josephine (Sacco) Venuti. He was the husband of the late Mary (Deleo) Venuti and is survived by his devoted wife, Gail Masaitis Venuti, of Bridgewater. He was the loving father of Arthur and Josephine Venuti of Worcester, Jane and Mark Tontodonato of Methuen, Marjorie and Bruce Williams of Wilbraham, Robert and Michele Powers of Monroe, CT, and Kimberley Brakken of Bridgewater; loving brother of Lena Perrachi of Malden and Phyllis King of Medford, and the late Charles Venuti and Emanuel Venuti. He will be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Of Malden, formerly of the North End

Francesco S. “Sam” Rico of Malden, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on May 5.

He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Meoli); devoted father of Nick Rico and his wife, Carol, of Scarborough, Maine and Christina Goff and her husband, Rich, of Virginia; loving grandfather of Isaac, Benjamin, Jillian and Kaitlyn; brother of Concetta Rico of Italy, Rosa Venturo of Melrose, Emma Colasante of Malden and the late Rocco Rico.

Orlando P. DiMascio of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on May 5.

He was the beloved husband of Ida (DiMichele) DiMascio; devoted father of Giancarlo DiMascio of Medford; cherished son of Resa (Susi) DiMascio of Medford and the late Romeo DiMascio; brother of Concetta Pietrolungo of Medford and the late Nancy LaVita and is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
