Spazzare! Attracts Numerous Residents

The North End’s own neighborhood Street Cleaning Awareness Campaign Spazzare! kicked-off at the Paul Revere Mall (Prado) last weekend.

The campaign is in part supported by North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association’s Clean Street Committee and the idea of the group’s chairperson General Dave Grant who took  the challenge head on.

Grant thanked everyone (about 30 people) who volunteered their time that helped make the program possible.

“There are not many neighborhoods left in the United States like the North End,” Grant said. “It’s everyone’s responsibility residents, tourists and patrons to do what we can to preserve this place,” he added.

Grant also encouraged everyone who is interested in preserving the North End to consider joining NEWRA.

“There are many dedicated people who have spent a considerable amount of their time and their talents on the issues that we face and they need your help,” Grant told those who turned out for Spazzare!

Boston City Councilor Sal LaMattina, Representative Aaron Michlewitz and Senator Anthony Petruccelli supported Spazzare! and each of them bought full page ads in the Regional Review promoting the Clean-Up Campaign.

The next NEWRA Clean Streets Committee monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 17 at 7pm in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street.
