Moving On and Up

The North End’s state representative Aaron Michlewitz has shown himself to be a heads up young man on Beacon Hill for this neighborhood.

During his time in the House, he has solidified his membership and place in that body by knowing how to position himself on the great and minor issues of the day and of knowing as well who to link himself with as he learns his way in the House.

Michlewitz enjoys extremely good relations with House Speaker Robert DeLeo and he works perfectly and is friendly with Senator Anthony Petruccelli and Boston City Councillor Sal LaMattina.

Because of those associations, he is part of the working delegation that has the ear of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.

Last week, Michlewitz ran his annual fundraiser in the North End.

It was extremely well attended, with young and old, rich and poor, professional and working class mixing together for a fun time to help their young rep.

This was the coalition Michlewitz put together when he first ran for the seat given up by former Speaker Sal DiMasi.

It was good to see that his base turned out for him, and in a big way.

The North End has been home to Michlewitz and his family for generations.

He knows this place like the back of his hand.

His is a good voice on Beacon Hill.

Nice going, Aaron Michlewitz.
