Thomas D’Ambrosio

Founder of Painting by D’Ambrosio

Thomas D’Ambrosio of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, died at his home following a sudden illness. He was 67 years old.

Mr. D’Ambrosio was born in Boston, the son of the late Angelo and Angelina (Taglieri) D’Ambrosio and was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, Class of 1961.

A painter by trade, he was the founder and owner of Painting by D’Ambrosio of Medford from 1996 until 2010. He was an active member of Work Out World on Boston Avenue, Medford, a member of the D.A.T. Club of Charlestown and held a black belt in karate.

He will be sadly missed by his faithful dogs, Maine and Rocky. He was an avid sportsfan, particularly of the New England Patriots. An important facet of his life was being a “Friend of Bill W.”

He was the loving husband of the late Patricia (Leslie) D’Ambrosio and the former husband of Peggy (Brugman) of Winthrop; devoted father of Christopher D’Ambrosio of Medford, Mark D’Ambrosio and his wife, Christine of Winthrop and the late Thomas D’Ambrosio; adored “Papa” of Jackson and Michael D’Ambrosio of Winthrop.

Funeral arrangements were by the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, those who prefer may make a contribution in his name to the Thomas A. D’Ambrosio Scholarship Fund, Treasurer’s office, one Metcalf Square, Winthrop, MA 02152.

Florence Monteforte

New Hampshire resident

Florence (Balliro) Monteforte of Brentwood, NH, formerly of Bourne and Medford, died on February 3. She was 89 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander L. Monteforte; devoted mother of Margaret Wohrle and her husband, Hans, of Stoneham, Lucille Collings of Malden, Leah Miller and her husband, Stephen, of Brentwood, NH, Louis Monteforte and his wife, Janice, of Everett and the late Alexis M. Giangrande; loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; loving sister of Mary Tzannos and her husband, Nicholas, of Bourne, Frances Bent and her husband, Arthur, of Wilmington, Lucille Winship of Plymouth, William Balliro and his wife, Linda, of Revere, Anthony Balliro of Boston’s North End, Bruno Balliro and his wife, Dee, of Florida.

Funeral arrangements were by the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Contributions in her name may be sent to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108. For guestbook and obituary dellorusso.net
