Since the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association Clean Streets Committee began presenting their “Good Neighbor” Award in March 2010, ten local businesses have been recognized for helping to keep the neighborhood sidewalks and curbs clear of clutter and debris.
The recipients were nominated by a sub-committee and voted on by the full committee at a monthly meeting.
The first two awards were presented together, one to V.Cirace & Sons on North Street and Salem Street True Value Hardware.
Other awards were presented in the following order: LaFamiglia Giorgio on Salem Street, LaSumma Cucina Italiana on Fleet Street, Spagnuolo’s Restaurant on Hanover Street, North Bennet Street School, Anthony’s Cafe on the Waterfront on Commercial Street, Strega Ristorante on Hanover Street, Mother Anna’s on Hanover Street and Corner Cafe on Prince Street.
This year, 2011, the committee plans to present their “Good Neighbor” Award twelve times, one for each month.
