Mother Anna’s receives a recognition award from NEWRA’s Clean Streets Committee

NEWRA Clean Streets Committee recently presented John Caparella owner of Mother Anna’s on Hanover Street with their Good Neighbor Recognition Award for helping to keep the community clean by consistently cleaning the sidewalk and curb in front of his place of business.

John told the Review he was honored to receive the recognition award.

“I’m out there every day cleaning up. My family has been in business in the North End for sixty-seven years and helping to keep the community clean has always been our goal,” Caparella said.

Janet Gilardi and Paul Nelson presented the award on behalf of the committee.

Each month three committee members review a long-list of nominations submitted by other members and residents and they cut the list to three.

At their monthly meeting members in attendance cast ballots to determine the winner.

The next committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 14 at 7pm at the Nazzaro Community Center.
