Josephine Sylvester

Of Lynnfield, formerly of the North End

Josephine C. (Guarnacci) Sylvester of Lynnfield, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on September 14. She was 93 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward L. Sylvester; loving mother of Joanne Ripley of Lynnfield and the late Edward G. Sylvester; cherished grandmother of Richard Ripley and his wife, Danika, and Dawn Ripley Tucker; great grandmother of Spencer Ripley, all of Lynnfield; loving aunt of Donald Sandrelli and his wife, Palma, of Arlington; Joan Freni and her husband, Charles, of Bedford, Lisa Nicol and her husband, John, of Texas and Tobin Guarnacci of San Francisco.

Funeral arrangements were by the Croswell Funeral Home, North Reading. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield. Memorial donations may be made to The National Kidney Foundation , 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.

 

Domenic Cortese

Of Winchester, formerly of the North End

Domenic Cortese of Winchester, formerly of Medford and Boston’s North End, died on September 13.

He was the beloved husband of the late Yolanda (Lia) Cortese; devoted father of Claudia Nolan and her husband, William, of Winchester, Andrea Collins and her husband, Edward, of Wilmington, Denise Cortese and her companion, Rick Wynn, of Rehoboth; loving grandfather of Eric, Matthew and Brittany Collins, Jacqueline Nolan and Steven Cortese; dear brother of Gloria Romano and her husband, Steven, of Saugus, Angela Guerney and her husband, Donald, of New York and the late Nicholas, Russell, Anthony and Frank Cortese and Rose DeMato.
