The World Cup

Some of us who try to appreciate the grandeur and the tradition of World Cup Soccer have been experiencing difficulty in watching and listening by the buzz-saw of irritating noise caused by the vuvuzela, a plastic trumpet available to any and all fans.

ESPN and ABC are trying to make adjustments to their broadcasts to lessen the noise, but it persists.

Some of us find it so annoying that we have turned off the World Cup shown on ABC in order to maintain our relative well-being by watching other sporting events that don’t leave the impression that we are sitting in the middle of an active bee hive.

Can’t there be World Cup Soccer without that ridiculous distraction?
